Press Release

Madison, WI (March 8, 2019) - Muse revealed that their new album, Simulation Theory, will begin its 43-city global tour in Madison, WI on May 17th, 2019 with an arena performance at the Kohl center.

“I’m talking about things like gaming and living in an imaginary world online on the album,” Bellamy told Guitar World. He went on to say,“This idea of getting out of the moment that we live in and going into a nostalgic sort of dreamland that’s outside of this time.”

Outside of this time indeed, the album is a synth-noir, eighties throwback, punctuated with the epic overtones that have come to define Muse. Simulation Theory is the eighth album from the group, and debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200. Walk The Moon will open the show, which builds on the visuals showcased in the album’s recently released music videos.

Muse is known for massive, over-the-top productions. In keeping, Bellamy will perform the tour exclusively in arenas and stadiums, while dressed in light-up, retro sunglasses and an LED hazmat suit. The stage will feature a light show, dancers, lasers and a huge LED screen displaying visuals. A giant skeleton puppet and robots also make appearances.

When Muse finished touring their last album, Drones, in 2015, Bellamy said that he wanted to strip down his music, and write a new album that was more organic. During production a different creative energy took over, which resulted in the album’s synthetic feel and overall narrative. To chronicle this transformation, Simulation Theory’s deluxe album features both the original and the final produced versions of each track.

Muse states that they may add more dates to their world tour. Tickets and VIP packages will be available on April 8, 2019, and are being handled by Frank Productions.
